Image Cutting

For this tutorial, we will focus on image cutting. Image cutting is when you wish to remove a particular piece of one image to use in another (i.e. removing a person from a background). There are many ways to do this, such as using the lasso tool or simply erasing everything around the section of the image you want to use. The problem with those two suggestions is that using the lasso (or even the magic wand tool) will most likely create jagged edges since it is not a pixel perfect method, and using the eraser tool just takes too long (though it can be fairly precise).

This tutorial will teach you how to use "Quick Masking", a tool in Photoshop, which I believe will give you the best results in cutting out a section of an image.

Read on.

I hope this has been helpful. Quick Masking is not the fastest method but, with practice and patience, will most likely work the best for you.
